3 Modifications:
I want each level to have a different weapon and a theme built around the weapon. Pistol level has longer sightlines, shogun level has stronger enemies but closer sightlines. So this change is levels.
I want there to be a distinct theme with each level, too. Level 1 is the slowest, level 2 is the fastest, and level 3 is a endurance test. I want this change to be more directed towards enemy types.
I want stage hazards to be distinctive in the 2nd and 3rd level. I want there to be a risk when maneuvering. It is, in extension, 2d platformer part 2. I want acid pools, and a return of my speed powerup. I want the final level to be like, Portal 2 coded yaknow?
So this modification is hazards and powerups.
